We’re closing in on reaching our goal to give Chaparral students a new computer lab! This Spring our teachers are doing their part to help the Chaparral Educational Foundation cross the finish line by sponsoring grade level “teacher dates.” Students will be chaperoned by their teachers for an afternoon of fun – and all for a great cause. Be on the lookout for a flyer detailing your child’s special date soon.

What’s the Buzz?

Students are busy preparing for Chaparral Educational Foundation’s 6th Annual Spell-A-Thon on March 14th!!

Each grade will compete to win a
classroom spelling bee trophy for the most words spelled correctly in their grade!

There will also be a popsicle party for the classroom in each grade with the most pledges. Keep up the studying and don’t forget to ask your friends, neighbors and relatives to sponsor your student. Funds raised support the construction of a 2nd computer lab. After the Spell-A-Thon each student will receive a coupon to enjoy a frozen yogurt compliments of Golden Spoon.

2-3 volunteers are needed from each classroom for correcting after the test at 10:00 a.m. in the MPR. To volunteer sign up at Volunteer Spot, simply click on the link below and sign up under your student’s teacher:

6:00pm - 8:00pm: FREE dance in the MPR, western attire, photo backdrop provided for parent photographers and a special tribute to the 5th graders (no play guns or weapons allowed)

Cookies and brownies can be purchased for 50¢. Ice cream for $1.00!

The Chaparral Foundation is working to fund a 2nd Computer Lab for Chaparral Elementary School.

We have raised almost $47,000 towards our goal of $75,000 but we still need your help.

Bring your coins and bills from Feb 4 to February 17th and deposit them in your classrooms collection jug. Look for and and all loose change in your car, laundry room, bottom of your purse. It will all go to a great cause for our kids.

The 3 classrooms with the highest donation amounts will receive a sweet treat after the presidents break.

The grade level that brings in the most will be recognized at the May Community Gathering and will receive an ice cream treat!
